BJP Chief Amit Shah is playing a key role in BJP lead government and is one of the closest aides of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. With the Presidential Election just weeks away, BJP government is busy picking up the right successor for Pranab Mukherjee. Amit Shah cancelled all his plans for Arunachal Pradesh tour which has been planned prior and is busy working on the Presidential election. He formed a three member committee which has Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley and Venkaiah Naidu.
Among the names that have been in circulation as the NDA's choice is that of Draupadi Murmu, the Governor of Jharkhand. The opposition parties too are busy conducting meetings to finalize their candidate. The election will be held on July 17th and the counting will take place on July 20th. BJP feels that they have enough numbers to finalize the future President.
